The tangible and intangible dimensions of (forced) human displacement are complex. Displacement inscribes itself with a certain set of interwoven temporal, spatial, social, economic, legal and cultural variable. Looking at place, space, and displacement in relation to each other, displacement further manifest itself in the form of a paradox of temporariness and permanence. By hosting a symposium, we aimed to discuss what the temporal, spatial and social implications of human displacement are and how they manifest themselves. We invited three renowned experts from diverse backgrounds to present their approaches and works: Romola Sanyal, Alessandro Petti (DAAR) and Mario Rizzi. The symposium was moderated by Isin Önol, followed by a Q&A session.
